WPAWPA Band ConcertThe Works Progress Administration (WPA) was established by executive order of Franklin Delano Roosevelt on May 6, 1935. The WPA was a work relief program that provided jobs for many individuals who had become unemployed during the Depression.

Several projects were administered directly by the federal government, including the Art, Music, Theatre, and Writers' projects. The majority of WPA spending went toward the creation and preservation of the nation's infrastructure.

This collection contains some rare symphonic orchestra music by the Federal Music Project during the late 1930s - early 1940s.
