Collection of WWII Music and War Drama Programs (1940s - early 1950s)

During WWII, the US Navy sponsored many programs to boost morale and provide entertainment for troops and those at home. This collection includes four music programs and one war drama program. Lands Best Bands is a humorous and enjoyable musical program featuring the sounds of Spike Jones.

The Navy Recruiting is also known as The Les Brown Show with Les Brown, Margaret Whiting, and his orchestra. Sponsored by the Navy Recruitment Office, Now Hear This airs dramatic stories based on men and women's service in the navy with the purpose of encouraging civilians to join the navy. Finally, Your Navy Show is another excellent music program featuring Ray Anthony and Tommy Dorsey.  The collection also contains Hoot'Navy starring Cliffie Stone with a convincing call to be a Navy Officer with his country western tunes.
