Sponsored by Fitch Shampoo, Fitch Bandwagon was originally a Sunday night music program starring popular big bands of the day.
Depending on the location of the host band, the broadcasts originated from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The show included such musical talents as Guy Lombardo, Cab Calloway, Ozzie Nelson, Harry James, and Tommy Dorsey.
In 1944, the series evolved with musical numbers in between comedy skits and featured Dick Powell as host. In 1945, the programmed featured Cass Daley (of Kraft Music Hall fame) and later starred Phil Harris and Alice Faye.
This collection also contains a bonus recording of the rare series, Fitch is on the Air, featuring Duke Ellington.
