The Kennedy Brothers

When the American people think of political royalty they tend to think of the Kennedys, and there is no more famous generation of Kennedys than that of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Edward M. Kennedy.

In an America of cynicism where many Americans have their heels dug into their political beliefs, the Kennedys brought to the American people, especially the young as was the case of 16 year old Arkansan, Bill Clinton when he visited the White House in July 1963 through Boy’s Nation; a sense of optimism that public service was a sense of duty and not something to brand yourself to make a lot of money whether you win or lose. The Kennedys of that generation didn’t believe in being victims, they believed that they had a duty by the old adage, to whom much is given, much is expected.

While their lives were tragic to say the least they did contribute a lot to the American landscape. Whether as a Naval hero in World War II as was the case for Jack Kennedy to what the surviving Kennedy brothers did serving our nation in government. From January 3, 1947 to August 25, 2009 with that little time between December 22, 1960 to November 7, 1962, the United States Congress had at least one Kennedy brother serving. There was that rare time between January 3, 1965 to June 6, 1968 that the country had two Kennedy brothers serving in Congress together.

This collection does not focus for say on the assassinations of bother Jack and Bobby; for say as there is no deep dive into those events.

This collection is a history of what each brother contributed to the country; whether good, bad, or indifferent.
