Honor the Law

Police crime dramas have a long tradition in radio and television. Crime dramas base their stories on actual cases and then ramp up the drama to make the story exciting. Beginning with the sound of tommy guns, sirens, and whistles, Honor the Law promises an exciting ride!

Fraud, car crashes, heists, gambling, stolen necklace, dams bursts, are all in a day's work for a police office.  Honor the Law is an early example of police radio drama dating from 1938.  The audio quality in Honor the Law is surprisingly excellent despite the old time radio shows age.  These are short stories of police work and bravery focusing on big cases and big busts, but also the interpersonal relationships between officers.

From murder to gambling to theft, the 15-minute 1938 show covered all kinds of crime. It's difficult to track the provenance on this show because it does not mention sponsors or identify the actors. However, if you are a fan of police crime drama, listen to this early example and enjoy!
