On the eve of America's entrance into WWII, The Free Company was created by an independent group of writers and their desire to produce a series of radio dramas reminding Americans of the fundamental freedoms worth defending.
The series was authored by Maxell Anderson, Stephen Vincent Benet, Marc Connelley, Paul Green, William Saroyan, and Orson Welles. Episodes in this old time radio series explored themes loosely based on the bill of rights included the freedom of press and speech, equality before the law regardless of race or creed, and right to jury trial before your peers.
