Gregory Hood was an "unlicensed private investigator"
which was a very popular genre at one time in the vein of Fat
Man, Nero Wolfe, Casey
Crime Photographer, and Rocky
Fortune. The stories revolve around the worldly yet tough
Hood whose antique dealing was the premise of the show. In his
quest for a rare antique he was lead into a crime investigation..
The real-life importer, Richard Gump served as model and advisor
for the series about the amateur detective who is certain to solve
the crime of the day.
