"Close your eyes and imagine strangely exotic violin music... the distant tinkling of a piano... flowing from your radio into the cool evening dark of some small town or isolated home, as the the voice of the announcer proudly recites....."
Brought to you by the makers of Majestic Radio, Maurice Joachim narrated and presented mysterious stories without the assistance of any other actors. Assisted only by sound effects, Joachim played all the roles.
The show had a none-to-subtle, but interesting link to selling the Majestic Radio Company's radio and tubes. After having a significant share of the consumer radio market in the 1920's, sales of the Majestic radios were slipping, and the radio program appears to have been a clever marketing ploy to increase sales, hence the opening line:
"In the majesty of motion, from the boundless everywhere, comes the magic name - Majestic... mighty monarch of the air!"

I just received my CDs and have been playing my digital downloads all week. My grandfather introduced me to old time radio as a kid by way of records, cassettes and the occasional radio broadcast. He has long past and I am a 42 year old dad now. I was thrilled when a few weeks ago my 12 year old daughter asked to listen to that "funny show where the turkey eats the lady's ring and gets x rayed." It has started rubbing off on her now too! When I found your site I was just looking for that Burns and Allen Thanksgiving show and was SO excited by all the others.
Your sound quality is great and prices are really very reasonable!
Thanks for turning your love of OTR into a business where it can be shared and passed on to future generations.
