Just from the name, Dr. Tim, Detective sounds like it would be more like a show about a police doctor who solves crimes. In an interesting twist for a radio show, Dr. Tim was a detective show for kids with an educational twist.
During the course of the show, Dr. Tim provided information about different topics related to medicine, often providing this information to his two young sidekicks, Sandy and Jill. Topics included information about blood, measles and inoculations and that all of these topics were just in one show.
Beginning in 1948, the show ran for 13 episodes. The seven recordings in this collection are the only recordings left to be in existence. Though it was a little light on the mystery part, it was just the right bite of mystery for young listeners in a 15 minute format.
