"Welcome to Bob Crosby's Club Fifteen... [toot toot toot] ... Fifteen Minutes of the best in popular music..."
Every weeknight at 7:30pm, listeners tuned into Club Fifteen. Debuting in 1947, this fifteen minute musical variety show, sponsored by Campbell's Soup Company, was hosted by charismatic crooner Bob Crosby.
Bob Crosby, brother of Bing and a reknowned Dixieland jazz singer, was joined on the show by The Andrews Sisters and Margaret Whiting and the Modernaires. Together these tuneful talents, backed by the Jerry Gray Orchestra, sang popular contemporary songs, charmingly chanted commercials from the program sponsor, and peppered the breaks between numbers with witty banter and comedy interludes. Musical guests also made occasional appearances.
A popular and well received show, it was broadcast until 1953, and was the Andrews Sisters longest running radio engagement.
