Vintage Airchecks of the 1960's

Like so many other programs that otrcat.com puts out, history comes alive. Hearing these broadcasts from yesteryear in their real time gives me a new perspective of the era and the people who lived it. I can’t wait for more from otrcat.com. Thank you!

Having received my FCC 1st in 1965 I can honestly say OTRCAT has an outstand selection of broadcast history recordings going back thru time to educate, entertain, and enlighten everyone listening from pre-teens to their grandparents who may indeed have been pre=teens themselves at the time of the original on air broadcasts. Having been a well satisfied customers for quite some time, the CD of the very best DJ's is exciting to hear their dynamic talents and abilities to keeep the listener's attention more than today's automated lack of personality sounds. Please know that this program will bring back many menories of the good old days of radio and for those too young to remember the excellent days of radio, just close your eyes and open your ears to actually enjoy the best of the best old time radio has to offer.

I really liked my particular disc which was of Chuck Leonard on WABC in New York on 12/31/68 doing the top 100 hits of the year. Besides being nostalgic for the music, I so very remember all of this that it is very possible I actually listened to this live on that New Year's Eve. My only complaint is that it ended too quickly. Now I am going to look for some more comparable recordings for my collection. Thank you for reminding us how entertaining Radio was, and still can be, with all of your great offerings.

I'm enjoying listening to these radio airchecks from the 1960s. The songs, the news reports, the commercials and the frenetic style of the DJs are a great time capsule of that era. The Joey Reynolds aircheck from February 1964 was particularly interesting because it took place during the beginning days of Beatlemania and also the night before the famous Cassius Clay-Sonny Liston heavyweight championship fight. It's great listening!!
