(1940-1944 , 1947-1948)
Whats the name? John Hancock. What the program?
Point Sublime!
Starring Cliff Arquette (pictured left) as storekeeper and mayor of Point Sublime,
Ben Willet, and Mel Blanc as August Moon and Ben Willet's side-kick,
the show is a comedy about the small town named Point Sublime.
Text on OTRCAT.com ©2001-2011 OTRCAT INC All Rights Reserved-Reproduction is prohibited. The town is located on California's beautiful and historic Pacific
Coast Highway (Highway One) on the Pacific Coast with only 250
residents. Though the site of the town is fictitious, the show
locale seems strikingly familiar to the early history of Carmel,
California.
The show also stars Jane Morgan as Evy Hanover, paleontologist
turned local woman, and Ben Willet's rival Howie MacBrayer (played
by Earle Ross) a Texas Businessman and owner of a local golf course.
John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company sponsored Point Sublime through most of its broadcast.
