"Here it is! The show everybody goes overboard about. The program both youngsters and grownups claim as their own… the LAND OF THE LOST!"
Penned and created in the 1940's by Isabelle Manning Hughson, a female radio pioneer, The Land of the Lost is a children's adventure program about two children who travel "in that wonderful kingdom at the bottom of the sea." Lead by Red Lantern, the "wisest fish in the sea", Billy and Isabel discover lost objects on the ocean floor.
Premiums were awarded to children for letters written about something they lost and wanted to have returned. Later broadcasts were sponsored by The Bosco Company.
