The popular singer from The
Jack Benny Show was given his own show in
the fall of 1946 beginning on. Sponsored by Colgate,
he played the same type of character as on the Jack
Benny Show, this time as a soda-jerk at
the Willoughby store. His problems revolved around
his girlfriend, Mildred Anderson was first played
by Sharon Douglas and later by Barbara Eiler. One of the most popular tenors on the radio, Dennis Day worked with Jack Benny until 1974.
Dennis Day was born Owen Patrick McNulty
on May 21, 1917 in New York and was renamed Dennis
Day when he joined Jack Benny's cast on October
8, 1939 at the age of 21.
