In our world of ever increasing litigation, it seems like we wouldn't think of asking a girl out on a date or even filling our gas tanks without consulting an attorney. Kids watching TV memorize the Miranda warning almost as readily breakfast cereal commercial jingles.
The services of the legal profession weren't always such common knowledge. In True Legal Dramas, an effort is made to change this. The fifteen minute plays center upon good people whose lives are thrown into turmoil. Their only hope is the services of a competent lawyer. A family member or friend may be unjustly accused of a crime. Others may have lost faith in the accused, and delight in the misery the scandal brings. The 'court of public opinion' will pass immediate, if unfounded judgment. But if a lawyer is hired on behalf of the accused, justice will flower, and the faith of the family will be realized.
True Legal Dramas is a 15 minute commercial for the legal profession, but it is also well written and entertaining radio drama. For more courtroom drama, see also:
