The name was Steve Strong, but in the shadowy world
of the New York underworld, he got to be known as
"That Strong Guy" and so it stuck. Not that
they're wrong, since a World
War tends to toughen up even the most cautious.
In the case of Steve Strong, it was the edge that he
got pushed over, and it got him ready for the world
of the Private Investigator. He works alone, in the
Mike Hammer mode, but has the support of his secretary
Sandra. Pal Captain Jim Daley of Homicide gets him
out of the kind of jams that clipped dialogue and
a stiff uppercut won't fix.

and "Bottle of Death." The "Temple of Horror"
sounds like something more fitting Terry
and the Pirates or The
Voyages of the Scarlet Queen. But we're in New
York City here, or as near as the underworld gets to being
"normal." The mean streets have a way of bringing
out the hard line and quick reaction, and Steve Strong
is up to the challenge.
No credits on these cases today, so a little more
investigation is needed to bring us up to date with
"That Strong Guy." In the meantime, there
are double fistful of broadcasts that have turned
up out of the estimated 28 that might have originally
been produced. Again, the facts are missing since
the case is considered closed, and That Strong Guy is no longer taking clients.

hours. Here is a short list, but a few clicks will
get you into a lot more "trouble" than you
could ever bargain for. In that case, call the cops,
such as Dragnet,
or Gangbusters
if you like the old days. Tales
of the Texas Rangers show they were detectives in the post WWII modern
mold as well, but were much more polite than your
average gumshoe. Tough guy detectives include Sam
Spade, Mike Hammer, Richard
Diamond, Philip
Marlowe, and that insurance investigator Johnny
Dollar.
