Frank Sinatra Playing Cards with A Dog
"I used to be a heavy gambler. But now I just make mental bets. That's how I lost my mind."
Steve Allen

Gamblers!!!Get out your felt tables and lucky dice, it's poker night at OTRCAT.com and we've assembled a jackpot of gambling and poker themed old time radio shows

Poker is a card game believed to have derived from the German verb pochen or "to bluff."  Although the origination of poker is unclear, the game rose in popularity in 19th century American on the Mississippi River and the Western frontier.   Special episodes from Red Ryder and Frontier Gentlemen are included in this collection.

Poker went mainstream during the 1950s and 1960s as the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop) spent time entertaining in glittery Las Vegas popularizing sin city.

Many men and couples had hosted card games in their homes during the 1950s and 1960s.   Shows like Blondie, Burns and Allen, Fibber McGee and Molly, and other sitcoms featured poker night in suburban 1950s America.

Gambling is illegal in most states which plot points for great old time radio drama and crime showsDrama shows included in the Poker and Gambling Collection include Honor the Law, Pat Novak, Boston Blackie, Nick Carter, and more.

We bet an arm and a leg you will enjoy this collection of Poker and Gambling old time radio shows
