Burgess MeredithSponsored by Beech-Nut Gum and Camay ("the soap of beautiful women"), Pepper Young's Family was one of the longest running radio serials of all time. Located in the small town of Elmwood, the Pepper Young Family represented the kind and honest people that typified all-American goody goodness. Though the show was reformatted and it's cast recast, the show continuous feature is it's inherent appeal and focus on a young man and his family. Authored by Elaine Carrington, the Pepper Young's Family also known as Forever Young and Red Davis became a radio staple.

The first star of the show was Burgess Meredith later to be known as for his performance as tough coach Mickey Goldmill in the Rocky films. Later Curtis Arnall (also starred as Buck Rogers) and Mason Adams would pick up the lead role as Pepper Young, an honest high school athlete. His younger sister, Peggy (later Betty) was beautiful and also popular.

The problems that these two teens faced borderlines melodrama including getting over school crushes and dating older women. Later Pepper became a newspaper reporter. The serial followed the lives of this family from High School crushed to adulthood and Elaine Carrington wrote the show until her death in 1958.
