Well written and performed, Hollywood Star Playhouse recreates a slew of suspenseful, original plays that bode well for half hour shows. Many greats grace this grand show: James Stewart, Deborah Kerr, William Conrad, Betty Lou Gerson and Harry Bartell, among others.

Highlights of the show include the episode The Six Shooter, which later became its own series with James Stewart. Apparently in a lost episode, Marilyn Monroe made her radio debut on this show in 1952.
