Chaes & Sanborn HourThe Chase and Sanborn show first appeared on the air in 1929.  In 1931 comedian took over for Maurice Chevalier and the show went from a half hour to a full hour.  Chase and Sanborn struck comedy gold with script writer David Freedman, king of the gag-writers.  The show announcer, Jimmy Wallington often interacted with the star while announcing his skits.  David Rubinoff--announced as Rubinoff and his violin--and his Orchestra provided the music for the show.

The star previously appeared in The Pabst Show and by the time he signed with Chase and Sanborn, he was already an established Broadway star having appeared in several reviews like the Ziegfeld Follies and starred in Kid Boots from 1923 to 1926. Having come from the stage with live audiences, the radio show in front of a live audience for the feedback and energy.

Chase and Sanborn was the highest rated show of its time.  Please note that some of the 1933-1934 rare recordings in this collection may be of inferior sound quality.
